Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember user preferences, and to provide information to website operators about how their site is being used.
Cookies are stored on your browser and sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes that cookie. Cookies help a website remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand which parts of the site are most useful to visitors.
When you visit equ-ai.com (the "Site"), we set and use cookies as described in this policy. Some cookies are set by us (first-party cookies), and others are set by third parties providing services embedded in the Site (third-party cookies).
This policy covers cookies used on the equ-ai.com website. It does not cover cookies used within the Equmenopolis account dashboard or API console, which are governed by their own session management requirements.
Equmenopolis uses cookies for three main purposes on the equ-ai.com website:
Operational necessity: Some cookies are essential for the Site to function. Without them, you cannot log into your account, maintain a session while navigating between pages, or use features that require authenticated state. These cookies cannot be disabled without breaking core site functionality.
Performance and analytics: We use cookies to understand how visitors use the Site - which pages are most popular, how long visitors stay, where they come from, and where they leave. This data is aggregated and anonymous; it does not identify individual visitors. We use this information to improve the Site's content and structure.
Functional preferences: Some cookies remember choices you make on the Site, such as whether you have accepted the cookie banner, your preferred theme or language if applicable, and any personalization settings you configure in the account dashboard.
Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the Site to operate. They are set automatically when you visit the Site and cannot be disabled through the cookie consent mechanism.

Equmenopolis_cookie_consent |

Equmenopolis_auth_state |
Temporary state token used during OAuth authentication flow (GitHub/Google login) | 5 minutes |
Analytics cookies collect information about how visitors use the Site. All data collected by analytics cookies is aggregated and anonymized - it does not identify individual visitors. These cookies are set only with your consent.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |

_Equmenopolis_anon |
Anonymous visitor identifier used to distinguish unique visitors in our first-party analytics. Contains no personal information; the value is a random UUID. | 13 months |
_Equmenopolis_session_id |
Groups page views within a single visit for session-level analytics (time on site, pages per session) | 30 minutes from last activity |
_Equmenopolis_ref |
Stores the referring URL to understand traffic sources (e.g., search engine, direct, referral site). Value is truncated to domain only, excluding URL parameters. | Session |
Equmenopolis operates its own first-party analytics system. We do not embed Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or other third-party analytics scripts on the marketing pages of equ-ai.com. Analytics data is processed on Equmenopolis infrastructure and is not shared with advertising networks.
Functional cookies remember choices you make and provide enhanced, personalized features. They are set only with your consent.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
Equmenopolis_ui_prefs |
Stores your UI preferences in the account dashboard (collapsed sidebars, table column widths, etc.) | 1 year |
Equmenopolis_docs_last |
Remembers the last documentation page you visited to resume where you left off in the developer docs | 90 days |
Equmenopolis uses a limited number of third-party services that may set their own cookies:
When you visit the pricing page or account billing section, Stripe's payment processing scripts may set cookies to enable secure payment form rendering, fraud prevention, and to remember your payment method if you opt in to remember it. Stripe's cookie use is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. Equmenopolis does not have access to the values of Stripe's cookies.
Cookies set by Stripe include: __stripe_mid (fraud detection, 1 year) and __stripe_sid (fraud detection, 30 minutes).
If you choose to log in using GitHub or Google OAuth, those services may set cookies on their domains to maintain your authentication state with their services. Equmenopolis does not control these cookies; they are governed by GitHub's and Google's respective privacy policies. These cookies are only active during the OAuth authentication flow and are not used for tracking on the equ-ai.com Site.
Cookies can be either "session cookies" or "persistent cookies." Session cookies are temporary and expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
The essential cookie Equmenopolis_cookie_consent is set for 1 year to avoid asking you to consent repeatedly. If you clear your browser cookies, you will be asked to consent again on your next visit. All cookie durations are shown in the tables in Section 3 above.
When you first visit equ-ai.com, a cookie consent banner is displayed. By clicking "Accept," you consent to the use of analytics and functional cookies in addition to the essential cookies that are always active. If you do not click "Accept" and close the banner, only essential cookies will be set.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing the Equmenopolis_cookie_consent cookie from your browser. On your next visit, the consent banner will appear again. Withdrawing consent will result in the _Equmenopolis_anon, _Equmenopolis_session_id, _Equmenopolis_ref, Equmenopolis_ui_prefs, and Equmenopolis_docs_last cookies not being set.
All major browsers provide controls to view, block, and delete cookies. Here is where to find these settings in common browsers:
Blocking all cookies will prevent essential cookies from being set, which means you will not be able to log into your Equmenopolis account or use the API console. Blocking only third-party cookies will not affect the core functionality of equ-ai.com.
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals to websites. Equmenopolis honors DNT signals: when a DNT signal is detected, analytics cookies are not set and only essential cookies are used, regardless of your cookie consent status.
Equmenopolis may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes. Material changes will be communicated via the cookie consent banner on your next visit to the Site after the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the date of the most recent revision.
We recommend reviewing this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies. Your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Cookie Policy.
